Springville hadn't done well against Salem Hills recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Red Devils' pitcher stepped up to hand the Skyhawks an 8-0 shutout. That looming 8-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Red Devils yet this season.

Not much got past Logan Sitterud, who gave up just seven hits to keep Salem Hills off the board.

At the plate, Reid Deede was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Van Sickle, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Springville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salem Hills only managed seven hits.

Springville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Salem Hills, they moved to 6-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Springville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Skyhawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
