Football Recap: St. Brendan Piles Up the Points Against Hialeah Gardens

While St. Brendan put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Hialeah Gardens. The Sabres claimed a resounding 35-0 win over the Gladiators. Given the Sabres' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Gladiators are ranked 546th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Brendan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Carmichael, who picked up 61 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 34 yards and one TD. That's the most receiving yards Carmichael has posted since back in September of 2024. Geovanni Tobon was another key rusher, rushing for 72 yards and one score on only five carries.

St. Brendan now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hialeah Gardens, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

St. Brendan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 22-21 win against Dr. Krop on the 15th. As for Hialeah Gardens, they have also already played their next game, a 35-0 loss against Goleman on the 17th.
