Basketball Recap: Loudoun Valley Comes Up Short

Loudoun Valley has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against the Heritage Pride on Friday, falling 68-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered since February 20, 2024.

Heritage was led to victory by Rachel Stewart and Alyssa Stanford. Stewart went 7 for 13 en route to 14 points in addition to five assists and three steals, while Stanford went 7 of 11 on her way to 14 points and six boards. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Riley Makitka also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Loudoun Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Loudoun Valley will challenge Tuscarora at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Heritage, they will take on Mt. Zion Prep Academy at 9:00 p.m. on Monday.
