Softball Preview: Schalick Cougars vs. Pitman Panthers        
        
		
            
 Schalick is 5-0 against Pitman since April of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Schalick Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pitman Panthers at 4:00  p.m. Both teams come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Schalick gave their fans yet another huge  victory on Wednesday. They never let Penns Grove onto the board and left with  an   18-0  win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Schalick.
  Abigail Willoughby made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  pitched  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Willoughby was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Taylor Sparks, who  went 4-for-4 with seven  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple. Another player making a difference was  Alexa Shimp, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Pitman narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past Deptford  2-1.
 Schalick is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record  this season. As for Pitman, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
 Schalick took their  victory against Pitman  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023 by a conclusive  21-1. Does  Schalick have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pitman turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
