            On Monday, the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  as they fell  56-52 to the Highlands Bluebirds.

 Breckinridge County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Kylie Carby, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 14  points and nine  boards. That's the most  points  Carby has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Elizabeth Grimes, who  posted 13 points and seven  assists.
Breckinridge County's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Highlands,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 9-2.
 Breckinridge County will head out on the road to  square off against  Bowling Green  at 4:30  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Highlands, they will host Bellevue  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Highlands is facing Bellevue at the right time seeing as Bellevue is stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
