Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Newberry walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Interlachen Rams on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Madison Rodgers looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Newberry got a massive performance out of Malana Kennard, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Kennard has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Mattson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Newberry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Interlachen only posted an OBP of .381.

The victory (which was Newberry's fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Interlachen, they dropped their record down to 6-17 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Newberry will face off against Keystone Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interlachen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
