Football Recap: Okolona Piles Up the Points Against Falkner

Okolona's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Falkner Eagles 55-27. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-13.

Okolona's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Omarion Wordlaw and Jaylen Jennings. Wordlaw rushed for 75 yards and one score while Jennings threw for 89 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Wordlaw got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 56 yards. Kingston Blanchard got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Okolona, racking up 17 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaiden Grady, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Falkner still got an impressive performance from Anthony Morgan, who rushed for 138 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries.

The win got Okolona back to even at 1-1. As for Falkner, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Okolona will challenge Shannon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Falkner, they will take on Bruce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
