Baseball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center] on Thursday, Marshall came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 6-1 to the Mankato East Cougars on Saturday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Mankato East, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will head out to face off against New Ulm at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mankato East, they will venture away from home to take on Austin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
