Basketball Game Preview: North Surry Greyhounds vs. Mount Airy Granite Bears

The North Surry Greyhounds and the Mount Airy Granite Bears will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. North Surry knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Mount Airy likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, North Surry made easy work of East Surry and carried off a 65-40 win. The Greyhounds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mount Airy suffered their biggest loss since January 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They took a blow against South Stokes, falling 100-63. The Granite Bears have struggled against the Sauras recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

North Surry has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.8 points. As for Mount Airy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

North Surry couldn't quite finish off Mount Airy when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 59-57. Can North Surry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
