The Civic Memorial Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Jersey Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Civic Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Civic Memorial didn't have quite enough to beat Freeburg and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Midgets: they've now lost five in a row.

Megan Griffith put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Griffith was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Griffith wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Hardy, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Jersey waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Hiltoppers.

Jersey now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Civic Memorial, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 7-4.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Civic Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like Jersey struggles in that department as they've averaged .315. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Civic Memorial took their victory against Jersey in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
