Basketball Recap: Dylan Stohon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Forest Hills over Bishop Guilfoyle

Forest Hills lost against Bishop Guilfoyle back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Forest Hills Rangers fell 78-69 to the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders. The Rangers were down 59-39 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Forest Hills' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Stohon, who went 11-for-22 on his way to 30 points and six rebounds. The game was Stohon's 20th in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Gregovich, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 16 points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Forest Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7.5 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 12.2.

Forest Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 20-2. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Forest Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-55 victory against Greater Johnstown on the 14th.
