Preview: Fletcher Senators vs. Westside Wolverines
Fletcher and Westside are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Fletcher Senators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Westside Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought game, but Fletcher had to settle for a 51-49 loss against Fernandina Beach.
Defeat or not, Fletcher got some senior leadership from Matthew Barata who scored 13 points and Sam Perry who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dj Rivera, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Westside, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Kenny on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Westside in their matchups with Bishop Kenny: they've now lost five in a row.
Fletcher's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Westside, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
