Baseball Game Preview: Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears vs. Dorsey Dons

Port of Los Angeles is 8-2 against Dorsey since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Polar Bears will take on the Dons at 3:00 p.m. Dorsey took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Port of Los Angeles, who comes in off a win.

Port of Los Angeles' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Locke. The result was nothing new for the Polar Bears, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Damian Ochoa, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Port of Los Angeles' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Malik Giron was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Dorsey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-1 to Fremont. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Dons couldn't push the score so high this time.

The victory made it two in a row for Port of Los Angeles and bumps their season record up to 10-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Dorsey, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Everything went Port of Los Angeles' way against Dorsey in their previous matchup back in April, as Port of Los Angeles made off with a 27-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Polar Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
