Softball Recap: Purnell Swett Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Purnell Swett's offense. They fell 3-0 to the South View Tigers on Friday. The Rams have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Purnell Swett saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sonata Oxendine, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Purnell Swett's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for South View, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Coming up, Purnell Swett will face off against Douglas Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South View, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Gray's Creek on the 18th.
