Howell and Hartland are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but not for long. The Howell Highlanders will head out to challenge the Hartland Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Howell saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 43-27 win over Milford. The victory continues a trend for the Highlanders in their matchups with the Mavericks: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Hartland entered their tilt with Brighton on Wednesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 39-27 win over the Bulldogs. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hartland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points on average over those games. As for Howell, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.

Howell didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hartland when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 42-36 victory. Will Howell repeat their success, or does Hartland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
