Football Recap: Mcgill-Toolen Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

McGill-Toolen unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 29-28 to the Daphne Trojans. The Yellowjackets were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

McGill-Toolen's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jack Lenaghan, who picked up 150 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and Blane Barre, who threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns.

Jaecyn Myles was a one-man wrecking crew For Daphne. as he rushed for 85 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McGill-Toolen will host Murphy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Yellowjackets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Daphne, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m.
