Baseball Recap: Saint Mary's Drops Season-High Score on Victory Christian Academy

With a playoff win on the line, Saint Mary rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They never let the Victory Christian Academy Eagles get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Saint Mary's got a great performance from Cooper Nitsan as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Nitsan a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Damien Nolan was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Saint Mary's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-2 (and 2-15 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Nitsan, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Saint Mary's hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Victory Christian Academy struck out ten times.

Saint Mary's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-17. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Victory Christian Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-10 record.

As of now, neither Saint Mary's nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
