Basketball Recap: Shelby Valley Comes Up Short

If Shelby Valley was riding high fresh off their 74-45 takedown of Mountain Mission last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Shelby Valley Wildcats took a 58-44 bruising from the Knott County Central Patriots on Monday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Shelby Valley's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Knott County Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.

Shelby Valley has already played their next match (against Prestonsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Knott County Central, they have already played their next game, a 59-57 defeat against Breathitt County on the 21st.
