Basketball Game Preview: White River Hornets vs. Emerald Ridge Jaguars

The White River Hornets will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Emerald Ridge Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in White River's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Thursday, White River made easy work of Kent-Meridian and carried off a 74-51 win. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Royals are ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

While Emerald Ridge didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Tahoma by a score of 62-55 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Emerald Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for White River, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
