Volleyball Recap: McDonald County Takes a Loss

The McDonald County Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Willard Tigers on Tuesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-4.

Kaberlyn Burchett paced McDonald County's offense, picking up seven kills. Burchett got some help from Jamie Washam and her ten assists.

Willard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ashlyn Hurd led the charge by getting seven digs and two aces. Hurd has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played. Ava Simpson was another key player, getting nine digs and one assist.

McDonald County's loss dropped their record down to 8-18-2. As for Willard, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-10-4.

McDonald County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Willard, they will face off against Carl Junction at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
