Volleyball Recap: Acton-Boxborough Revolution vs. Wayland Warriors
If Acton-Boxborough was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Marlborough on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Revolution took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wayland Warriors on Monday. The Revolution haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Acton-Boxborough started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 14-25, 26-24, 25-14, 25-21.
Jake Moorman paced Acton-Boxborough's offense, picking up 17 kills. Moorman got some help from Anuj Pawar and his 24 assists. Pawar was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.
Mason Lee went supernovafor Wayland, getting 16 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Lee has posted since back in April.
Acton-Boxborough's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Wayland, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-2.
Looking ahead, Acton-Boxborough will venture away from home to challenge Algonquin Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wayland, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Needham on the 20th.
