Soccer Recap: Deerfield Beach Comes Up Short

After flying high against Taravella last Wednesday, Deerfield Beach came back down to earth. The Deerfield Beach Bucks fell just short of the Coconut Creek Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Bucks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Banllery Dubon and Davi Machado scored both of Deerfield Beach's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

With the defeat, Deerfield Beach broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5-1. As for Coconut Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2-2.

Deerfield Beach will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pompano Beach at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Coconut Creek, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Coconut Creek take on the Blanche Ely at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
