After a string of four wins, Wabash's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 74-53 to the Whitko Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Apaches of the 55-38 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Wabash still got an impressive performance from Kaitlynn Honeycutt, who made all 8 shots she took for 20 points along with five boards and three steals. Honeycutt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brookelyn Buzzard, who posted 19 points and seven rebounds.

Wabash's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Whitko, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Wabash will welcome Maconaquah at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wabash is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. As for Whitko, they will head out to take on Rochester at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
