Preview: Lanier vs. Provine
Provine will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Lanier at 7:00 PM. Provine is expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
Provine might have drawn first blood against Velma Jackson last week, but it was Velma Jackson who got the last laugh. Provine suffered a grim 12-33 defeat to Velma Jackson. Provine got a solid performance out of senior Anthony Davis II, who ; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory.
Meanwhile, Lanier had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 14-0 win over Wingfield.
Lanier's victory lifted them to 3-0 while Provine's defeat dropped them down to 1-1. Lanier's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Provine defensive front that amassed 4.0 sacks against Velma Jackson, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
