Baseball Recap: West Harrison's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

West Harrison had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Long Beach Bearcats on Friday, sneaking past 9-7. This was a revenge game for the Hurricanes: when they faced off against the Bearcats last Tuesday, they had to take a 7-2 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Reece Parker, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one triple. West Harrison is 5-2 when Parker posts two or more runs, but 4-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Sandel, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

West Harrison's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 9-15. As for Long Beach, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bearcats beat West Harrison by a score of 13-3 on Saturday.
