Softball Game Preview: Redington Huskies vs. Homer Mariners

Redington is 0-9 against Homer since April of 2024 but things could change on Saturday. The Huskies will head out to face off against the Mariners at 2:00 p.m. Redington has given up an average of 18.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Redington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Kenai Central, who was ranked 15th at the time (Redington was ranked 18th). The Huskies came up short against the Kardinals on Friday, falling 19-9.

Meanwhile, Homer lost 17-2 to Palmer on Friday. The Mariners haven't had much luck with the Moose recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Amakah Stineff made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Redington's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Homer, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1.
