Basketball Recap: Juarez Extends Winning Streak to Four

Juarez won the last time they faced Holy Trinity and things went their way on Monday too. The Juarez Eagles snuck past the Holy Trinity Tigers with a 28-24 victory. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Martha Patino was the offensive standout of the match as she posted 13 points. Emily Flores was another key player, putting up seven points.

The win (which was Juarez's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 15.0 points per game. As for Holy Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juarez and Victoria Soto will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Juarez's defense has only allowed 20.2 points per game this season, so Victoria Soto's offense will have their work cut out for them. Holy Trinity will take on Christ the King in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
