Senior guard led St. Mary's Prep to Division I state semifinals.

Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.

Trey McKenney of St. Mary's Prep (Orchard Lake) is the 2024-25 Michigan MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot-4 senior guard led the Eaglets to a 20-7 record and the Division I state semifinals.

For the season, McKenney averaged 23.8 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest. He shot 55 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range.
