Volleyball Recap: Brookfield Academy's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Brookfield Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University School of Milwaukee Wildcats. The Blue Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Brookfield Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made University School of Milwaukee work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 13-25, 26-24, 25-15.

Among those leading the charge was Maya Barksdale, who had 14 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. Abby Dengel also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Brookfield Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for University School of Milwaukee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Brookfield Academy will square off against rival Catholic Central at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, University School of Milwaukee is set to take on their familiar foe St. Francis at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
