Basketball Recap: St. Augustine Drops Highest Score of Season Against Providence Catholic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Augustine). Everything went their way against the Providence Catholic Provets on Thursday as the St. Augustine Knights made off with a 55-33 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Knights have posted since December 14, 2024.

Several Provets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaylee Camacho, who posted nine points and five boards. Selene Cedillo was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

St. Augustine's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Providence Catholic, they are on a 43-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-26.

St. Augustine is taking a road trip to challenge St. Joseph Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something St. Augustine surely won't give up without a fight. Providence Catholic has already played their next game (against St. Joseph), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
