Soccer Game Preview: JSerra Catholic vs. Servite

The JSerra Catholic Lions will challenge the Servite Friars at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. JSerra Catholic is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

If Servite heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when JSerra Catholic took over last week. JSerra Catholic walked away with a 3-1 victory over St. John Bosco on Friday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while the Braves are ranked 433rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jake Tatch and Gavin Allegaert scored all three of JSerra Catholic's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Meanwhile, Servite sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Santa Margarita on Friday.

JSerra Catholic pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three contests. As for Servite, their win bumped their record up to 8-3-4.

JSerra Catholic took their victory against Servite in their previous matchup on January 3rd by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for JSerra Catholic since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
