Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Union Lions vs. North Union Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions face off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Liberty Union knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully North Union likes a good challenge.

Liberty Union took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They took down Fairfield Christian Academy 69-50. The Lions pushed the score to 53-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, North Union beat Northwestern 58-45 on Friday.

Liberty Union has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for North Union, they pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Liberty Union ended up a good deal behind North Union in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, losing 68-49. Can Liberty Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
