Volleyball Recap: Navarre Raiders vs. Niceville Eagles

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Navarre can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Niceville Eagles on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16.

Katelyn Weller paced Navarre's offense, picking up 11 kills. Weller got some help from Isabel Gutierrez and her 15 assists. Finally, Eden Kemsley kept Navarre's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Leading Niceville to victory were Aprille Trotter and Janey Elder. Trotter had 28 digs and four assists, while Elder had 18 digs and two aces. Trotter has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Navarre's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Niceville, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Navarre does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Niceville, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Gulf Breeze on the 16th.
