Baseball Recap: Anderson Triumphs

While Anderson's win against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Titans 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

KeAvon Burt and Cole Roberts did most of the damage at the plate: Burt went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run, while Roberts went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Burt is becoming a predictor of Anderson's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 8-14 when he doesn't).

The victory snapped Anderson's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-14 record. As for Indianapolis Arsenal Technical, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Anderson will challenge Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Arabians have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Indianapolis Arsenal Technical, they will face off against Lawrence North at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight.
