Softball Recap: Frewsburg Bears vs. Chautauqua Lake Eagles
Frewsburg had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-6 to make it five. They lost 17-0 to the Chautauqua Lake Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 5-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.
As for Chautauqua Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Chautauqua Lake's part, Cayzlee Johnson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched.
