Soccer Game Preview: Smithton vs. Fatima

The Smithton Tigers will challenge the Fatima Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Smithton has given up an average of 3.6 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Smithton fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Moberly on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5. The loss continues a trend for Smithton in their meetings with Moberly: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Fatima lost 10-2 to Christian Fellowship on Tuesday.

Fatima's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Smithton, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Smithton couldn't quite get it done against Fatima in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
