Basketball Recap: Southside Seahawks vs. Princeton Bulldogs
Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 49-41 to the Princeton Bulldogs.
Despite the loss, Southside still got an impressive performance from Josh Armstrong, who scored 17 points. Zy'Mire Burgess was another key player, earning eight points.
Princeton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashton Massey out in front who posted 11 points along with six assists. What's more, Massey also posted a 57% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Garrett Lane, who earned 11 points plus three steals.
Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Princeton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Southside will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Martin County at 7:30 p.m. on December 3rd. As for Princeton, they will square off against Midway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
