Baseball Game Preview: New Ulm Eagles vs. Marshall Tigers

The New Ulm Eagles will take on the Marshall Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (New Ulm 3.8, Marshall 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

New Ulm is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Mankato West on Saturday. They came up short against the Scarlets, falling 9-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Scarlets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Marshall was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They fell 6-1 to Mankato East.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for New Ulm, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 11-4.

New Ulm beat Marshall 6-1 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
