Texas prep players have made their mark on the NFL draft with over 70 going in the first round over the past 25 years.

* A total of 37 players who finished high school in Texas have been taken in the first round of the NFL Draft since 2006.
* Two players have been taken No. 1 overall since 2006 - Andrew Luck to the Indianapolis Colts in 2012 and Matthew Stafford to the Detroit Lions in 2009.
* Of the 37 players chosen in the first round, seven have been quarterbacks - Luck, Stafford, Christian Ponder, Johnny Manziel, Robert Griffin III, Ryan Tannehill and Vince Young.
* Three of the top eight picks in the 2012 draft were former Texas QBs - Luck at No. 1, Griffin at No. 2 and Tannehill at No. 8.
* The Cincinnati Bengals have made the most selections of Texas high school players, taking 17 since 2006. The St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams are second with 16 and the Dallas Cowboys are third with 13.
* The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints have taken the fewest Texas players, with only four selections apiece since 2006.
* Bushland, a town with a population of 670 in 2012, had two players drafted in 2014. Both Crockett Gilmore, a third-round pick of the Ravens, and Weston Richburg, a second-round pick of the Giants, played on the 2008 Bushland team that went 10-1.
* A number of schools have had at least four players drafted since 2006, including DeSoto, Ryan (Denton), Pflugerville, Plano East, Longview and Skyline (Dallas).
* Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller played at DeSoto.
* A total of 39 Texas preps who have been drafted since 2006 attended the University of Texas. A total of 25 attended Texas A&M.
* Since 1990, 72 Texas preps have been chosen in the first round of the NFL Draft.
