Newington and Enfield are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Nor'easters are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

Newington fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Southington on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Knights by a score of 6-5. The loss continues a trend for the Nor'easters in their meetings with the Blue Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. Enfield was the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over Tolland. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Enfield has posted against Tolland since May 14, 2018.

The win made it two in a row for Enfield and bumps their season record up to 8-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Newington, they now have a losing record of 5-6-1.

Newington took their win against Enfield when the teams last played back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Nor'easters since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
