Softball Recap: Alexandria Wins High-Profile Match Against West Limestone

Alexandria faced West Limestone in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Valley Cubs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Valley Cubs have posted since April 18th.

Alexandria has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 41-10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for West Limestone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 44-7.

Alexandria will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Albertville on July 1, 2026. West Limestone does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
