Basketball Recap: Bucklin-Macon County Takes a Loss

If Bucklin-Macon County was feeling good fresh off their 49-29 takedown of Bevier last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The match between the Bucklin-Macon County Bulldogs and the Meadville Eagles didn't end well, with the Bucklin-Macon County Bulldogs falling 48-30. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-23 back in December of 2024.

Meadville was led to victory by Kinlee Fletcher and Tessa Link. Fletcher dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards, while Link went 8-for-16 to rack up 19 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Link a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Lexi Bartz, who posted seven points and five boards.

Bucklin-Macon County's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Meadville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Looking ahead, Bucklin-Macon County is taking a road trip to challenge Brashear at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Meadville, they will be playing at home against Norborne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
