Early had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Greenwood on Friday. Early blew past Greenwood 12-2. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Michael Doyle was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Doyle was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Conor Stockton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. Carter Gregory was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Early now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Greenwood, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Early Panthers face off against Miller Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenwood, they will square off against Norwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
