After a string of seven wins, Sunlake's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Everglades Gators.

Everglades' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dekotah Pierre-Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Pierre-Johnson a new career-high in rebounds. Chris Payoutte was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points.

Sunlake's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Everglades, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Sunlake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-52 victory against Smith County on the 30th. As for Everglades, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-67 win against Martin County on the 30th.
