Basketball Recap: Highland Gets the Win

If Queen Creek wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Highland, they should've done a better job of containing Bailey Williams. The Highland Hawks took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 54-23 victory over the Queen Creek Bulldogs thanks in part to Williams, who went 7 of 14 en route to 20 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Queen Creek lost, don't look at Amaya Rodgers. Despite the final result, she posted 15 points and three steals. That was a full 65.2% of Queen Creek's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessenia Attson, who earned six points and nine boards.

Highland now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Queen Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-18.

Highland will face off against Higley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Queen Creek, they will square off against Gilbert at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gilbert will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Queen Creek surely won't give up without a fight.
