Softball Recap: Granville Central Comes Up Short

Granville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Louisburg Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Tuesday.

Granville Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariah Bullock, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Granville Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Louisburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Granville Central Panthers duke it out with Carrboro Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carrboro is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season. As for Louisburg, they will venture away from home to square off against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Louisburg also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 8 runs per game.
