Volleyball Recap: Joplin Takes a Loss

Joplin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Teresa's Academy Stars.

Joplin started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-13, 25-7.

St. Teresa's Academy can attribute much of their success to Naomi Randall, who had seven digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave Randall a new career-high.

Joplin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-22-1. As for St. Teresa's Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-11.

Joplin has already played their next contest (against Carthage), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Raymore-Peculiar on the 11th.
