Football Recap: Cedar Cliff Piles Up the Points Against Chambersburg

Cedar Cliff's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed past the Chambersburg Trojans to the tune of 35-7. That 28 point margin sets a new team best for the Colts this season.

Landon Howell had a dynamite game, rushing for 110 yards and two TDs on only 14 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cedar Cliff was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Cedar Cliff's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Chambersburg's QB won't forget Blake Secrest anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Cedar Cliff got some further help from Will Kocher: he made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss) and snagged an interception.

The victory got Cedar Cliff back to even at 3-3. As for Chambersburg, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Cliff will face off against State College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chambersburg, they will square off against Carlisle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will be up against the Thundering Herd's rather soft defense (which has allowed 41 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
