Basketball Recap: Amanda Elzy Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Amanda Elzy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 66-39 loss at the hands of the Greenville Hornets on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Amanda Elzy's loss came despite strong showings from Derek Parker and Jar'Kayvius Hunt. Parker posted 16 points and five assists, while Hunt scored eight points and eight rebounds. Ryan Collins was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Demarion Gibson, who had 16 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Dior Williams, who put up ten points.

Greenville has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Amanda Elzy has already played their next contest, a 59-51 defeat against Grenada on the 8th. Greenville has also already played their next matchup (against Clarksdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
