Softball Recap: Johnson City Comes Up Short

Johnson City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Chenango Valley Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 12-10 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Annabel Burke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

Johnson City's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Chenango Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Johnson City is taking a road trip to challenge Union-Endicott at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chenango Valley, they will take on Seton Catholic Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
